DS Night Vision and DS Active LED, the lighting systems for the DS7
The flagship of the French Premium brand features several lighting elements that provide greater and better night-time visibility for increased safety

Lighting is a very important element of a vehicle, and the engineers in charge of its development focus their efforts on making it more efficient, both so the driver can see better and so other drivers can see the vehicle itself. The DS DS 7, the flagship of the Citroën Premium brand, features a light signature that makes it easy to identify and also improves visibility from inside the cabin.
LED technology gives the car a very distinctive look with the LED modules in the front headlights, but also through the rest of the vehicle’s lighting points. Among these points, the DS ACTIVE LED VISION system stands out: when the doors are opened, it lights up in purple and then pivots 180º, creating a very curious and attractive effect.

The daytime running lights are made up of LED clusters forming a vertical light, which gives a very recognisable look alongside the dynamic indicators. At the rear, 3D Full LED technology is used, in this case with light blocks shaped like scales. This design was first seen on the company’s latest concept, the DS E-Tense, which introduced other new features to the model.
Night Vision
With the Night Vision system, the driver can see what is happening in front of the car thanks to a camera mounted in the front grille, capable of detecting pedestrians and obstacles that may be on the road. The image, which uses infrared to see in the dark, is shown on the digital instrument cluster. When the system detects a hazard, it highlights it in yellow, and if it is very close, it shows it in red. This system is typical of higher-end cars, but it has been introduced for the first time in a model in this category.
DS Active LED Vision
The DS Active LED Vision lighting system adapts to road conditions, both in intensity and width. Like the light blocks at the rear, these headlights come from the DS E-Tense concept, where we already saw the Dynamic Bending Light and High Beam directional headlights. They can be set to five different modes: Parking, Town Beam, Country Beam, Motorway Beam and Adverse Weather, which allow the light beam to be adjusted to improve visibility and increase the safety of the car’s occupants, without dazzling other vehicles on the road.
