Endesa will test the first electric vehicles from Seat

Endesa received two electric vehicles from Seat yesterday, specifically the Altea XL Electric Ecomotiv prototype -100% electric- and the León TwinDrive Ecomotive plug-in hybrid. These two models will form part of a pilot test that reflects the commitment both companies have to promoting electric mobility in this country.

The two vehicles have been handed over to eight employees in Catalonia, who will use them until December 2013, in three-month periods for each driver. Naturally, four representatives will receive the Altea XL, while the other four will get the León. The Spanish electricity company thus becomes the first to integrate these two models into its fleet.

Teamwork to boost electric mobility

The shared objective of Seat and Endesa is to promote electric mobility in Spain. To this end, they will collaborate on identifying and analysing fast-charging technologies, both in the short and long term. In addition, they will improve infrastructure, which is currently scarce on the Iberian Peninsula.

Ramón Paredes, Vice President of Government and Institutional Relations at Seat and the Volkswagen Group in Spain:

SEAT and Endesa share the goal of promoting the electric vehicle, and these tests represent a new step towards achieving it. Working together will give us professional insight that will help improve the development of our models.
