Ferrari will take the step: the first electric model will arrive in 2025

We have waited a long time, but the Italian supercar maker has already announced the launch of its electric model, which will arrive in 2025.

Most of the big manufacturers have already taken the step. Electrification is very common and many models come with an electric version. Other brands have resisted until now, either because they lacked the right technology or because they understood their brand in a different way, one where electrification had no place. We still remember when Porsche said that “electrification was not in its plans” and how it has embraced it with the Porsche Taycan.

Ferrari was not closing the door on this possibility, but it was delaying the launch of this model until well into the decade. However, it has been John Elkann, the company’s chairman, who announced the brand’s next steps at a shareholders’ meeting. Among these developments, the launch of a fully electric model stands out. And the date set is 2025.

Three new releases for 2022

The shape, features and components of this electric model are a complete mystery. Only that news exists, and nothing has been revealed about the electric model. That said, expectations are quite high because Ferrari cannot fall behind in this race. The pressure from European governments to eliminate traditional combustion engines may have been a good incentive to take this step, and surely in a few months we will begin to learn Ferrari’s plans for this new model.

For now, and while this one arrives, Elkann announced the arrival of three new models for the brand. It is not known which cars these will be either, but there are rumours of a new Ferrari 812 Superfast with more power than the current one. Another model could be a replacement for the Ferrari F8 Tributo. But other models are known, such as the Ferrari Purosangue, the brand’s first SUV.

Another of the models expected to arrive will be a hybrid model aimed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, so it cannot be said that they are standing still. We are convinced that many fans of the brand are sure this will be a car that lives up to the expectations generated. Impatient to see it?
