Fiat 500 Sport Cattiva: the little one among the monsters at Pebble Beach

Fiat has decided to show at the Italian Concorso at Pebble Beach a special version of the 500 Sport and Turbo sold in the USA. The version, called Cattiva, will focus on colour contrast as its main customisation, as it will have no mechanical changes.

Over the years, the annual exhibition of prototypes, concepts and cars for the wealthy at Pebble Beach has not been a place where Fiat has gone with many models. The Fiat 500 may not be suitable for standing alongside some of the most exclusive German, British or Italian cars, but the people at Fiat decided it would be a good idea to take a turn around the Italian Concorso at Pebble Beach with a customised 500 model.

Responding to the call of the American market, the Fiat 500 Sport Cattiva, first presented at the Detroit Motor Show, will be shown as a production model at the renowned show. The Cattiva is a visual customisation of the 500 Turbo and 500 Sport that combines dark interior colours with an orange exterior, in an attempt to live up to its name, which in Spanish means “bad”.

The Cattiva package focuses on darkened front and rear lights, a black-painted roof and a rear spoiler, also in black. The matt black contrast continues on the 16-inch wheels, all to give the car a more aggressive attitude, a play on colours that is a “trick” that is not new in customisation. In addition to orange, the Cattiva will also be available in red, black, silver, granite, white and blue.

Inside, almost everything is black, with a few exceptions in the seats, which also have grey and silver inserts. As all the changes have focused on appearance, the engines do not change, including the 1.4 engine in naturally aspirated and turbo versions, with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.

The price of the model in the American market will be 14,000 euros at the exchange rate for the Cattiva Sport. Slightly cheaper than the most basic version of the Abarth 500 offered in Spain, but no less attractive than the scorpion.
