Fiat Fastback: first design details of the new coupé-style SUV
The new Fiat proposal shows its elegant silhouette for the first time, boasting SUV bodywork together with the dynamism of a coupé-style sloping roofline

Several years after we first heard about a new SUV concept from the Italian brand, Fiat Brazil has just unveiled the first official image of its Fiat Fastback, a coupé-style SUV in the mould of the Renault Arkana that shows a very attractive line without giving up the advantages of a mid-size SUV.
The announcement came with a teaser image in which its undisputed star is its fastback silhouette, showcasing the more athletic side of this model, along with a tall bonnet, well-defined wheel arches, very pronounced hips and, as is only fitting for a fastback, a very attractive rear spoiler.
In addition to the above, the published image also reveals a number of new elements, such as sharply shaped headlight units with LED technology, a fairly flat front end that accentuates its height, a shark-fin style antenna and rear lights that will likely run across the entire rear of the new model, something we have already come to expect from many new models from various brands.

For now, the launch of this new Fiat Fastback will be limited to the Brazilian market, although given the current range in the Italian brand’s lineup, it is quite possible that this new coupé-style SUV will reach markets such as Europe later on, where it would be a very attractive alternative to models such as the popular Renault Arkana, the Volkswagen Taigo, or even the Cupra Formentor with the 150 CV engine.
Same platform as the Pulse
According to information provided by the brand itself, the new Fiat Fastback will be built on the group’s MLA platform, a platform the brand already uses on another of its models, the Fiat Pulse, a compact SUV at a really attractive price. Therefore, given this, it is possible that it will share the powertrain range of the latter.
That said, all that remains is to wait for Fiat Brazil to reveal further details such as its interior, its technology features, its final look, or when it will officially arrive on the streets.
