Škoda Enyaq iV 80 FestEVal, electric cars go camping too

In recent years we have witnessed a great boom in vehicles oriented towards camping, not only in the motorhome and caravan segment, but also in camperized vehicles, those that are based especially on vans of various sizes that have been adapted for this purpose.

This boom has also meant that vehicles that in principle are not suitable for this can also become a “camper”, offering all possible comforts and thus reaching a wider range of customers. Thanks to this, we have seen the creation of accessories that can be installed on the roof, such as tents and even small stoves hidden inside with which to cook.

Within this last range of camperized vehicles is the Škoda Enyaq iV 80 FestEVal, an idea brought to reality thanks to the British division of the Czech brand, who want to celebrate the return of music festivals after two years of pandemic with this version. Although, of course, the Enyaq iV 80 FestEVal is also perfectly suited to enjoying nature in any setting and, moreover, in a sustainable way, since, as you know, it is a fully electric SUV.

To create the Škoda Enyaq iV 80 FestEVal, the brand has partnered with the also Czech manufacturer Egoe, which first created a “box” that fits perfectly in the 585-litre boot of the Enyaq iV 80. This “box” does not prevent the use of the rear seats and, once we are at the campsite or in our preferred spot, the seats can be folded down to make better use of the space. It slides outwards and includes a gas cooker, a folding sink with tap and hose in case we need a shower, an area for preparing food and a generous storage space.

But that’s not all, because with a frame that is easily fitted we can create a bed inside it, where two people can sleep comfortably. Furthermore, if we bring a couple of friends, we can also stay in the hard-shell roof box that is mounted on the roof bars, which when raised turns into a tent for two people, with storage inside, a fan powered by a solar panel and interior lighting. Finally, we have other gadgets such as folding chairs and a table, further improving our stay inside.

The Škoda Enyaq FestEVal takes the Enyaq iV 80 as its reference, available in five trims, and equips everything found in the non-camperized version, both technologically and in terms of assistance and driving aid systems. Mechanically, it uses an electric motor of 205 CV that sends power to the front axle, together with an 80 kWh battery that provides a range of 544 km and charging of up to 135 kW, reaching 80% of its capacity in less than half an hour.
