Chevrolet Hybrid Cars Salón de Detroit
First look at the Chevrolet Volt ahead of its final unveiling
The Chevrolet Volt will be presented at the Detroit Motor Show in January, although we still don’t have much information about it, and only one teaser image has been made public in recent days, ahead of its arrival on the market

Hybrid cars seem to be gradually gaining ground, and their performance keeps improving as demand for them grows. It is therefore no surprise that existing models are being improved and new models using this system are being created, even in the case of higher-end ranges.
This is not the case with the Chevrolet Volt, which is not exactly one of the most expensive or flashy cars on the market, but its arrival will be one more incentive to get one at increasingly affordable prices. Although its presentation at the Detroit Motor Show in January is still a long way off, we have already seen a small teaser of what this model will be.
As you can see, it is not a particularly revealing image, although the shape it will have is more or less known from the news reports about the car that have appeared over time. That said, it is thought that Chevrolet could be considering reducing the size of the battery.
This reduction would also mean a lower electric range. According to sources at the brand, this would allow costs and total weight of the car to be reduced. In addition, it is considered that around 30 to 50 km of electric driving range will be sufficient, given the combustion engine that allows free movement.
The argument used for this move is economic, since it is also thought that the Opel Ampera, the other car from the GM group sold in Europe, is too expensive. The idea is therefore to offer more affordable prices for this type of car so that more and more users can access hybrids.
For now we only have this image, but in a few months we will surely have a lot more information about this model, ahead of its presentation in Detroit. We will be keeping an eye out.
