The Fisker Pear will debut a new technology that will allow the driver to see through the A-pillar.

The Californian manufacturer will show its operation for the first time on a pre-production unit of the Pear, which will be displayed at the company’s new Lounge in Los Angeles.

We have all at some point had our view obstructed by the A-pillar of our vehicle when overtaking or merging onto the road, and the only solution available today to this problem is to move our head back and forth to try to see around that obstacle. At Fisker, however, they believe they have a much better solution that they plan to implement in what will be the most affordable model in their entire range, the Pear.

Using the system of cameras that surround the vehicle, the system developed by the Californian manufacturer captures precisely the part of the driver’s field of vision obstructed by the A-pillar and projects it onto an interior screen, which we understand will be located on the same A-pillar. We say we understand it will be so because the manufacturer has not yet published any image or video showing how it works.

However, we will soon have our answers. Fisker has promised to show this new technology in detail next week on a pre-production unit of the Pear that will be displayed at the new Lounge of the company in Los Angeles, located at The Grove. Anyone who attends there will have the chance to see it in person, and will also find a prototype of the brand’s Alaska pickup.

Fisker seems determined to implement some ingenious ideas in the Pear

Regarding this news, Henrik Fisker himself has assured that now that sales of the Ocean SUV have successfully begun in both Europe and the United States, he finds it truly exciting to face the launch of the brand’s next two models, with which they hope to redefine some key concepts in each of their respective segments. The opening of Fisker’s new Lounge in Los Angeles is the perfect opportunity for our customers to have first contact with the Pear and also with the Alaska pickup, he concluded.

The Californian manufacturer announced some time ago that the Pear will feature the new Blade computer being developed by the company itself, as well as its proprietary software. Fisker states that its Blade computer will have a processing capacity of 6.2 teraflops and the ability to connect with the multiple sensors the vehicle will be equipped with via a multi-gigabit Ethernet connection. Connection to the outside world will also be guaranteed via 5G and Wi-Fi 6.
