Ford F-150 Raptor, the most radical version of the off-road pick-up

In a previous article we discovered the new versions of the Ford F-150; now it is time to focus on the most powerful and striking version of the model. This is the F-150 Raptor, the top of the range of this off-road pick-up, featuring maximum performance and the most complete equipment. And it does not come alone, as the range is complemented by a Raptor R version, which surpasses even the variant that until now was the most radical.

Since it is a very recognisable variant, the manufacturer wanted to give more prominence to the front of the model. New wing mirrors have been redesigned, and other decorative details that confirm its place in this very special segment can be seen. A new colour has been added to the bodywork, Shelter Green, which evokes work in the countryside.

It also features vinyl graphics with the Raptor name and other decorative graphics on the bodywork. The bumper has been designed so that several additional elements can be fitted, such as an auxiliary light bar and others available in the Ford Performance catalogue. In addition, the flares have been designed to show more of the wheel than in other variants, so they offer a more attractive and dynamic look than those.

The light units have also been redesigned, with new daytime running lights using LED technology. The tyres are 37 inches and the off-road capabilities are enhanced by Fox Dual Live Valve shock absorbers, which allow better behaviour on very difficult terrain.

One of the options for the model is shock absorbers with a new rebound control, which automatically adapts the suspension to the terrain conditions. This complements the five-link rear suspension, with a Panhard rod and 24-inch coil springs.

Engines of the Ford F-150 Raptor

The Ford F-150 Raptor will be equipped with the 3.5-litre V6 engine, which delivers 456 CV. The F-150 Raptor R uses a more powerful unit, so we find a 5.2-litre V8 engine. This comfortably exceeds 700 CV and 868 Nm, making it the highest-performance model in the range.

The new Ford F-150 Raptor will reach the market in 2024, although it can already be reserved in the United States. The price of the F-150 Raptor starts at 77,890 dollars. For the Raptor R variant, the price is not yet known, as it will arrive a little later.
