The Ford Fiesta ST 2018 will reach the market in a few months, and we already know its price. The renewed small performance car will be available from 24,995 euros with three-door bodywork and from 25,455 euros in its five-door version.

3-cylinder engine and 200 CV

The Ford Fiesta ST 2018 features a powertrain that is very different from its predecessor. The 4-cylinder engine has been replaced by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit producing 200 CV. It also incorporates the popular cylinder deactivation technology to save fuel, which means that at times the car runs on just two cylinders.

The car will be offered exclusively with a manual gearbox and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds, allowing it to beat one of its main rivals in this respect: the Renault Clio RS. Its top speed is 232 km/h.

With a limited-slip differential for the first time

The new generation of the Ford Fiesta ST will be the first to feature a limited-slip differential. This system, from the well-known firm Quaife (a brand with which its bigger brother, the Focus RS, has already worked), improves the car’s cornering: the differential limits the torque delivered to the inside wheel of the bend (which has less grip) and transfers it to the outside wheel (which usually has more grip) to achieve greater traction when accelerating out of a corner.
