Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition: paying tribute to its past

This is not the first time we have brought you the Heritage Edition signature to Highmotor. Back in August, we already presented its latest novelty, the Ford GT that paid tribute to the original model that won at Le Mans.

With the same approach of paying tribute to its past, the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition has been born, a machine with a truly sporty and radical look, yet it features special colours and design elements inspired by the 1967 classic model. A legendary car that many of us will remember from the film Gone in 60 Seconds.

But without straying from the topic, this new version comes in a special blue paint called Brittany Blue that radiates character and personality. In addition, alongside this elegant colour, Ford offers two optional customisation packs that reaffirm what it was created for.

An essential accessory

The first one features two vinyl stripes in Wimbledon White that run across the car from front to rear and along the side skirts. All of this comes at a modest price of $2,140, or in other words, 1,883 euros.

The other customisation pack consists of fitting the same stripes as the other option, but with the special touch of being hand-painted, which adds extra value and exclusivity that is so appreciated in a commemorative edition like this one. As you can imagine, it starts from a price that is not very affordable: specifically $12,140, that is, 10,684 euros at the current exchange rate.

The oval brand has confirmed that the first units of the new GT500 Heritage Edition will arrive during the spring of next year, 2022, at a price starting from $78,835.

Born to cut through the coast

Alongside this major presentation, Ford has also taken the opportunity to introduce another special version called the Mustang Coastal Limited Edition, created for cruising along the coast of the United States with a 310 CV EcoBoost engine, 19-inch machined aluminium wheels, a black grille and Coastal badges both inside and outside.

Like its bigger sibling, the Coastal Edition has its first deliveries scheduled for spring of next year, 2022.

Finally, another of the novelties added to the new 2022 Mustang range is the eye-catching Code Orange colour, which joins the eight new colours that include Brittany Blue, Cyber Orange, Eruption Green Metallic and Mischievous Purple, among others.
