Ford Mustang55, a special edition for Europe to celebrate its 55th anniversary

On April 17, 1964, one of the vehicles that can boast of having made history went on sale: the Ford Mustang, which gave birth to a new class of vehicles called “pony cars” and thus served as inspiration for other legendary models such as the Dodge Challenger, the Plymouth Barracuda or the Chevrolet Camaro, among others. Since then, 55 years have passed, during which it has continued to stir passions among every motoring enthusiast; indeed, in 2018 the Mustang was the best-selling sports coupé in the world for the fourth year in a row.

To celebrate this milestone of 55 years of history, Ford has decided to mark it in Europe with a special edition called Mustang55. Based on the Mustang V8 with a 5,000 cc engine and 450 CV of power, available with both the fastback and convertible body styles, the Ford Mustang55 features exclusive aesthetic modifications that give it a unique style and affect both its exterior and interior.

Starting with the exterior, the Ford Mustang55 features black gradient stripes on the bonnet along the lower sides, a color that is also applied to the roof of the fastback versions (although the convertible version also uses black for its soft top), and on the 19-inch wheels, although these have a glossy finish. It should be noted that, if the Shadow Black body color is chosen, the stripes become silver.

Continuing with the exterior aesthetic changes, the grille bars and the one located at the bottom of the bumper are finished in gloss black and Pillar black; this latter color is also applied to the Mustang logo and to the 5.0 badges on the front fenders, to which the Colorado Red color is added for the decimal point. Finally, available as an option, you can fit an elevated rear spoiler painted in Pillar Black.

Inside the Ford Mustang55, the aim is to reinforce its sporty character with carbon-fiber-effect inserts, while the center console and knee pads are upholstered in leather with grey stitching, a contrast that also appears on the floor mats. In addition, if the Mustang55 is chosen with a manual gearbox, it gets an exclusive gear lever, while with the automatic gearbox the gear lever is made of an exclusive metal alloy.

In terms of equipment, the Ford Mustang55 comes as standard with heated and cooled front seats, the latest update of the Ford SYNC 3 system with DAB+ radio, a B&O sound system with 12 speakers, a FordPass Connect modem for better connectivity, remote door unlocking, vehicle locator and, for models with automatic transmission, remote start as well.
