Ford Transit M-Sport: celebrating the 50th anniversary

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Ford Transit, the successful commercial vehicle from the American brand, which has been on its fifth generation since 1965. As a birthday gift, the British van tuner Van Sport has teamed up with M-Sport, the creators of the Ford Fiesta RS WRC, to give a sportier look to the popular Ford van.
Inspired by the Fiesta RS WRC, this Ford Transit M-Sport features similar decoration, a specific bodykit and several interior details that give it a sportier look. Starting with the exterior, the way Van Sport has chosen to set the Transit M-Sport apart from the rest of the Transit range on the road has been through the fitting of a bodykit consisting of front and rear bumpers, a set of 18-inch OZ alloy wheels, specific sill covers, a small rear spoiler and a diffuser specially designed to accommodate four square exhaust outlets.

To enhance the visual appearance, various exterior decal designs have been included, clearly influenced by the Fiesta RS WRC, combining white, blue and black colours. In addition, the fitting of a lowered suspension signed by Eibach makes the Ford Transit M-Sport 30 mm lower than a standard Transit.
Once inside the cabin, Van Sport and M-Sport have added a host of specially designed details. The leather steering wheel with a blue leather lower section, an instrument cluster with a white face and LED lighting and the M-Sport logo, leather upholstery with logo inserts, a limited-series identification plate, blue seatbelts, limited-edition floor mats, and a third-row seat section that folds to keep a load space.
Under the bonnet, the 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi engine remains unchanged in the Ford Transit M-Sport. Although it might give the impression of being a limited edition of just two or three units, Van Sport intends to sell it and has already announced that its price in the United Kingdom (the only place it will go on sale) will start at 37,986 euros.
