Ford will present customized versions of the Edge at SEMA 2015

Motorsport-related events keep coming, one after another at a dizzying pace. We now turn to SEMA, where manufacturers show us the customization possibilities for their most popular models. Ford is going to present up to 28 customized models, although we will focus on three of those vehicles. These are three versions of the Ford Edge Sport, which receive a new look to give them a distinct personality beforehand.

The first of these vehicles adapted from the Ford Edge is what they have called Ignition by Webasto, a model that was designed with the help of NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski. He tested it once it was finished and claims it increases the sense of power you feel when driving it. In his words, this version combines the design and performance of a sports vehicle with the luxury and comfort that a car of this kind deserves.

To make it feel more sporty, more carbon fiber parts and other components with improved characteristics have been added, so that it delivers the best performance under the demanding conditions potential buyers are expected to subject it to. This customization includes the Webasto Thermo technology, with a ThermoCall TC3 climate control unit and the H740-II Comfort Inbuilt sunroof.

The second modified Ford Edge Sport is named Vaccar Edge Sport. This version has upgraded finishes which, combined with 22-inch wheels that bring out its full potential thanks to an improved suspension, make a difference. The engine has also been tuned for better performance, and it features Alea Leather upholstery along with other details that provide the difference being sought.

Finally, let’s talk about the Ford Edge Sport Tjin Edition, the most urban version of the SUV, in which performance has been improved by installing BAER 6S brakes on the front and rear wheels, 22-inch wheels, and customized Alea Leather CT upholstery in the interior. Other models will get a version of the Explorer, although there is talk of other SUVs that will also enjoy a design refresh, though their specifications have not been made public, so we will have to wait until the SEMA show.
