Gemballa Avalanche: the spirit of the 1985 classic returns in spectacular fashion

In 1985, a version of the Porsche 930 Turbo was launched that managed to carve out a place in the market, offering 395 CV and a truly striking look. It was the Avalanche, and although its life was fairly short, it left a good impression. At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, a car will be unveiled that will revive that name, though it will not be the old model, but a completely new proposal from the Gemballa tuner, based on the current Porsche 911 Turbo.
We have a first image of this model, which will roar along the asphalt thanks to the engine of that same model, which in the production version is a 3.8-litre unit that delivers a baseline output of 540 CV. But to make it even more spectacular, changes have been made to this engine so that the final output reaches a not-inconsiderable 806 CV and a maximum torque of 950 Nm.

These two images do not reveal many details about the car. Nor is it a definitive version, since they are sketches, quite advanced but not representing the design changes that will be made by the time of the presentation. With them, the company has sought to grab our attention with exterior design changes that completely transform the appearance of the car on which the company’s professionals based their work.
The images show a spectacular rear spoiler, and we do not know to what extent it will be present on the final model, what size it will be, or whether it will be as spectacular. A quad exhaust with two pipes on each side of the rear also stands out, giving a sense of power and a sporty look. The colour scheme shows they are going all out, because that colour scheme in the image is not normal.
The model will feature elements made of carbon fibre, which also help it project a very elegant and powerful image. We will wait a few days to see whether more images arrive, or whether we will have to wait until the model is presented at the Swiss event.
