Gemballa "gets its hands on" the McLaren 650S

If today any McLaren is spectacular, both in its exterior and in its more technical side, you should not miss this preparation that Gemballa has carried out on the McLaren 650S.

The front remains unaltered, so if we look at the British supercar head-on, we won’t notice anything out of the ordinary. However, if we walk around it, things start to get interesting. With just a few degrees of change in our perspective, we already notice several changes.

First of all, our gaze is drawn to the wheels as if a powerful magnetic field were pulling at us. Designed with 5 double spokes, they measure 20 inches at the front and 21 at the rear. In addition, according to the tuner, they are lighter than the originals. To accommodate the wheels due to their larger dimensions, the inner wheel arches have had to be enlarged and modified with carbon fiber.

Another detail this 650S receives after passing through Gemballa’s hands is in the side skirts. They are now more voluminous and bring the car a few millimeters closer to the ground, giving it a more sporty look.

But the most significant aesthetic change to this “tuned” McLaren is at the rear, with a considerably revised bumper. It has been designed to be more visually aggressive, but also to improve aerodynamic downforce, together with the aforementioned side skirts, and to keep the car planted on fast corners. This bumper, which is also made of carbon fiber, consists of a single piece and integrates a pronounced diffuser.

As for the interior, we have not managed to obtain images, but it seems the German tuner offers a wide variety of options for its configuration.

Not all the changes are cosmetic. Although it does not receive a particularly huge power increase, Gemballa crowns the job by slightly modifying the engine’s electronic control unit. In this way, it manages to raise the output from the 650 horsepower of the stock model to 670 horsepower in this preparation. For its part, the torque now stands at 727 Nm.

The price of these modifications is 33,900 euros, taxes included.
