Goodbye to the Audi A8: the brand stops accepting orders for this luxury model
The luxurious Audi A8 is no longer available to order, and the brand is now focusing on completing the ones that have already been ordered before discontinuing it.

For a little over three decades, anyone who wanted to drive a top-of-the-range Audi had an Audi A8, an executive saloon that offered all the brand’s cutting-edge technology and equipment that went beyond the rest of its models. But from now on, if this model has not been ordered beforehand, it will no longer be possible to enjoy it.
Audi has stopped accepting orders for the Audi A8 and will focus solely on completing the units that are currently in production. It seems there is no replacement for the German luxury model, so it may be a long time before we see which car is destined to fill the gap left by this popular, though low-selling, model.

The reasons behind the end of production of the Audi A8
There are several reasons why the German brand has decided to remove this model from its lineup. Probably the most significant has been the low number of units sold. In Spain, for example, only 48 units have been sold during 2025. It is clear that it is a luxury vehicle, that it has a high price and that it is not a car that usually sells in large numbers, but even taking these circumstances into account, this figure is very low.

In 2021 the last update of the Audi A8 arrived, which brought technological and aesthetic innovations. But even with this renewal, sales did not keep up and the brand began to doubt whether this model was the right path to occupy such an important segment.
Audi’s strategy is moving toward SUV bodywork and electric models, so this model has become outdated in the brand’s plans. As for a possible successor, it is believed that Audi is working discreetly on the model that will take the A8’s place and is waiting for the right moment to unveil it. This could be based on the concept car Concept C, which has already been seen at several events around the world.
So we will wait a little longer and see whether the highest segment of Audi is left empty or replaced by an even more spectacular and technologically advanced model.
