Heads up! The BMW M7 could become reality sooner than you think
Did you know the BMW M7 could become reality sooner than you think? We’ll tell you all about it.

We’re sure you know that the Bavarian brand has offered many variants of its 7 Series over the years. Some generations have featured special versions such as the Alpina B7 or the BMW M760i, which is powered by a V12 engine. The future of performance at the German manufacturer lies in electrification, so much so that we could be looking at one of the most sought-after models; the BMW M7.
Although the brand has offered high-performance versions of the 7 Series, BMW has never developed an BMW M7 as such. As some sources have confirmed, the BMW M7 that has been rumoured for quite some time could finally arrive with a high-performance plug-in hybrid powertrain, and it is believed that the origin of the powertrain is known.
Everything we know about the future BMW M7
The rumoured BMW M7 could share the twin-turbo V8 block that already powers the hybrid system of the BMW XM Concept. This heart is capable of producing 750 CV of power, an increase of 150 CV over the Alpina B7 or the BMW M760i, and these models can reach 0 to 100 km/h in around three seconds.
Such incredible acceleration would make the BMW 7 Series PHEV worthy of the M badge. In addition, Mercedes-Benz could also be working on an Mercedes-AMG S-Class with a plug-in hybrid system capable of producing up to 800 CV. It seems the battle of the high-performance saloon is getting very interesting.

Alongside the 2023 BMW 7 Series petrol, the new BMW i7 arriving in 2023 will also spawn a sporty variant, although it won’t be a full M model. The BMW i7 is expected to arrive with an M60 variant producing more than 600 CV, which translates into a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in under four seconds. This fully electric model will compete directly with the Mercedes-AMG EQS, which produces 650 CV. Although these two will probably be the fastest and most powerful variants of the 7 Series of all time, Mercedes-Benz will have the advantage of power in the electrified era.
We’ll have to wait a few more months to see whether the sports saloon segment becomes interesting again; at least we already know it will have two new models going head to head. Which do you think will win the battle, the BMW or the Mercedes-Benz? Tell us, we’re eager to hear your opinion!
