Imagine for a moment that you are 17 again and about to embark on the adventure of getting your driving licence in any car. Well, this is the situation Matt, a 17-year-old American, has just lived through: he has just passed his practical driving test in a whole Bugatti Chiron. That’s right, you read correctly: this lucky teenager got behind the wheel of the French hypercar to obtain his driving permit and keep enjoying this and other gems of the automotive world, but how was this possible?

The first thing you need to know is that, unlike in countries like ours, in the United States you can take the practical test in any vehicle. This means you can show up for your appointment with the examiner at the wheel of one of the most exotic cars in the world, as Matt did. However, the Bugatti Chiron is not the only supercar this young American has access to: he counts on the acclaimed YouTuber TheStradman among his circle of friends, who filmed the entire process.

Some time ago we told you that the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo had become part of a private collection in California and, as you may be imagining, the Chiron featured in this video also shares a garage with the concept car. TheStradman, who has a close relationship with Matt and his father, the owner of the collection, considered it worth filming this unusual event, since it is not every day that someone goes to a driving test with a supercar capable of generating more than 1,000 CV of power.

The imposing presence of the Bugatti Chiron and its striking colour combination caused not only the examiners but also several passers-by to be surprised by the French hypercar. However, as we already mentioned, several vehicles of the same calibre as the Chiron live in Matt’s garage, so it cannot have been an easy choice for the young American.

A Ferrari LaFerrari, a Bugatti Veyron Super Sports, a Lamborghini Centenario and a Pagani Huayra Roadster are some of the supercars that coexist in Matt’s garage. However, this boy’s choice was clear, and it was the Chiron that accompanied him to take his driving test. In this way, Matt has at his disposal a powerful supercharged W16 engine capable of delivering 1,500 CV of power and a staggering 1,600 Nm of torque.
