Honda and its hybrid legacy: 25 years of innovation and a special Civic Elegance edition priced at €32,950
The new Honda Civic and ZR-V take hybrid driving to a new level, and the Civic Elegance trim stands out as the premium option that combines elegance and performance
Honda celebrates a quarter century of development in hybrid technology, a journey that has taken it from being one player among many to becoming a benchmark in the sector. Its latest advance, the hybrid technology, marks a milestone in the perfection of hybrid engines, combining efficiency with a sporty touch that sets the brand apart. But that is not all: to mark 25 years of innovation, it is also launching a Honda Civic Elegance on the market at a special price of €32,950 this October, paying tribute to its hybrid legacy.
With the hybrid system, the driver can focus on what really matters: enjoying the drive. This advanced technology optimises fuel efficiency, allowing the car to operate autonomously in different modes depending on the situation. The setup includes a petrol engine, two compact electric motors and a powerful lithium-ion battery, all designed to deliver a driving experience that is not only efficient but also agile and dynamic.

Three driving modes
The key to the hybrid system’s success lies in its three operating modes:
- EV Drive: In this mode, the vehicle moves solely on electric power, ideal for short urban journeys, while the combustion engine remains switched off.
- Hybrid Drive: In this mode, the combustion engine acts as a generator to recharge the battery, which in turn powers the electric motor. This allows efficient use of energy, turning the vehicle into an on-board power generator.
- Engine Drive: Here, the combustion engine takes charge of driving the wheels directly, especially useful in situations demanding more power, such as when reaching speeds between 80 and 120 km/h.

The hybrid system automatically selects the most suitable mode, optimising performance and efficiency. With a design exceeding 40% efficiency, Honda has managed to create one of the most efficient engines on the market.
Honda Civic:
- 2-litre petrol engine with Atkinson cycle, producing 184 CV.
- Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds.
- Optimised interior space and advanced connectivity technology.

Honda ZR-V:
The new Honda ZR-V is equipped with a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 154 CV, combined with a CVT gearbox that ensures smooth and efficient driving. Available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, it features a multi-link rear suspension that improves stability and comfort
- Versatile design with a spacious interior and increased load capacity.
- State-of-the-art active and passive safety systems.
- Intuitive connectivity with touchscreens and smartphone compatibility.
