Honda Super-One, the prototype previewing the battery-electric city car from the Japanese brand
The Honda Super-One prototype was unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show and has become the forerunner of the brand’s future battery-electric city car.

A few months ago, Honda presented a electric prototype that previewed the future battery-electric city car from the Japanese brand. It debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but we knew that was only the beginning of the road towards the production model. Now comes a new prototype, bringing us closer to the production version of the small electric city car, the Honda Super-One.
Right from the start, following its presentation, we know this model will be sold in the markets of Japan, Asia and Oceania as the Honda Super-One. In the European market it will be known as Super-N. Its look is rather unusual, as the designers drew inspiration from Japan’s well-known kei-cars, small city cars with boxy shapes that stand out in urban traffic. Specifically, they took the Honda N-One e: as their reference, so it is quite similar to that model.

We have no details about the electric propulsion system of this model, although Honda has reported that it is equipped with a simulated seven-speed transmission. An Active Sound Control system mimics the sound of a combustion engine. These two features will be activated when the vehicle is driven in Boost mode. In this mode, the screens will display a specific interface and the coordinated lighting sequences will make the driving experience more intense.

Details that make the difference
Although the car is still a prototype, with elements that may not make it to the production version, its image is striking. The interior has also been carefully designed to catch the attention of potential buyers. The white, black and grey upholstery makes it quite attractive and gives an pleasing overall ensemble.
In front of the driver we find a screen dedicated to the instrument cluster and a screen for the infotainment system identical to the one seen in other Honda models. This model is meant to become the gateway to Honda’s electric models, so it is expected to be quite successful among European buyers in 2026.
