How long will you have to wait to drive your new car?
Are you looking for a new car? We tell you how long you will have to wait to get behind the wheel of your new car.

Want to buy a new car but have heard there is a chip crisis in the industry? To clear up your doubts, let’s answer this question. How long will you have to wait to drive your new car? Many, if not all, car manufacturers are having problems with deliveries of their models. Waiting times to take delivery of a new car have increased considerably, and this is not doing the industry any good.
In addition to the Covid-19 pandemic, the automotive industry has also been affected by the Texas freeze, the reduction in flights and even the blocking of the Suez Canal last March. The shortage of some models is leading drivers to opt for other models that still have some units available.

Likewise, some manufacturers already have their orders closed for next year. This is the case, for example, of Jaguar Land Rover, which has already closed orders for 2022 for its Land Rover Defender. It is also believed that Mercedes-Benz will suspend factory orders for some models. Audi, for its part, will not build stock units, and its delivery times are six to nine months. At Volkswagen, some models will not arrive until October 2022, roughly a year from now. If you are thinking of choosing a Volkswagen Golf, a Touareg, a Tiguan or an ID.4, you had better think twice.
If you don’t want to wait that long, you can opt for a Volvo, which has a delivery time of around three months, or for BMW, whose delivery times are between two and four months. If, on the other hand, you are interested in a Citroën, Fiat, Renault or Opel, delivery times are approximately three or four months.

Want a car that can be delivered much faster? You will have to opt for a Kia or a Hyundai, which have confirmed production times of just a few weeks. You are surely wondering, what about discounts? Normally, at this time of year, dealerships have very attractive promotions for the stock units they have available. Well, we believe that this year you will have to opt for brands and/or models that have units available, or choose a model with some form of electrification so that you can benefit from the Plan MOVES III aid.
