Today we came across a video in which a first-generation BMW X5 seems to be about to be saved by some engine lovers after suffering an accident, but the modifications it was about to undergo were certainly not meant to return it to its original state. In this way, the German SUV has undergone a series of changes that elevate it to achieve performance focused exclusively on the off-road world.

BMW wanted to revolutionise the market at the end of the 90s with the arrival of the X5, a vehicle concept that, at first glance, looked like an off-roader but hid much more. The German brand brought the SUV segment closer to the market of that time, a type of car that combined luxury, comfort and exclusivity with performance designed both to tackle the road and to venture into the most adverse terrain.

These young Russians wanted to bypass the more bourgeois side of the first-generation X5 and accentuate its off-road abilities. To do this, they took a crashed unit as a base, cut off the roof, removed various imperfections from the bodywork and reduced weight by stripping many elements from the interior. In this way, this BMW X5 has decided to break all the rules and face any obstacle that crosses its path.

However, to tackle the most treacherous terrain, a powerful mechanical setup is necessary and this X5 had all the essential characteristics. From the sound the German SUV is capable of producing and from the four exhaust outlets that dominate the rear, we can deduce that its innards hide a powerful 4.4-litre V8 engine. This engine was capable of producing 286 CV of power and 440 Nm of torque, figures that allowed the X5 to reach 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km/h.

In this way, these young people have managed to create a unique BMW X5 in the world which, with a much harder and higher suspension and tyres prepared for all kinds of terrain, will be able to face any type of situation. We don’t know whether these modifications will go further to finish shaping the new character of the German SUV or whether they will limit themselves to maintaining the aesthetics the X5 currently presents. Either way, they have managed to create an X5 unique in its kind that will leave no one indifferent.
