If you are looking for a family-oriented electric car, pay attention to the improvements incorporated into the Renault Scénic E-TECH

Renault introduces some improvements to its Scénic E-TECH range, including new seats, bidirectional chargers, a facial recognition camera and the “one pedal” function.

Renault Scenic 10

The Scénic E-TECH, the 100% electric crossover from Renault, receives an interesting update aimed at improving the user experience, with new equipment and features. The engine, battery and trim level offering is maintained, with the choice of two versions: one with 170 CV and a 60 kWh battery, or one with 220 CV and an 87 kWh battery. Ranges go from 430 to 625 km.

One of the driving-related improvements is the addition of the “one pedal” function, which joins the four energy recovery levels available until now, selectable via the paddles on the steering wheel. This function is especially useful in town, as it allows the driver to control acceleration and deceleration using only the right pedal. There is now also the option of fitting a 22 kW bidirectional AC charger, as an alternative to the 11 kW charger that comes as standard. This charger can restore up to 80 km of range in 30 minutes at a public charging point.

More standard equipment and improved connectivity

There are also equipment improvements, such as new seats with electric adjustment, heating and massage (driver’s seat only) for the esprit Alpine trim. The iconic versions renew the interior finishes with new upholstery made from sustainable materials, available in titanium black with Alcantara inserts, or in grey as an optional extra.

An interesting feature is the driver facial recognition using a camera located on the left front pillar, although it is only available on the esprit Alpine and iconic trims. This camera recognises the driver when the car is started (a profile must be created beforehand for each user) and activates their settings, such as seat and mirror positions, favourite radio station or the apps they use in the R-Link multimedia system. In addition, this camera has a second, safety-related function: detecting possible signs of fatigue, triggering an alert for the driver to regain attention to driving and take a rest stop.

As for the multimedia system with integrated Google, one of the best on the market, new features keep arriving, including indication of the most efficient route, road incident notifications, or setting up a journey from a smartphone via Google Maps with immediate availability in the vehicle. The app library is also constantly being updated, with more than 50 options available, including Nextory (audiobooks), Prime Video, Podium (music and podcasts) or sports news from the AS newspaper.

Other novelties in the range reach the accessories catalogue, notably the adaptable centre console, a practical armrest that converts into a backpack, an organiser with multiple compartments for carrying items, tablet holders, etc.

The prices of the Renault Scénic E-TECH, including discounts but excluding Plan MOVES III aid, start from 35,955 euros for the 170 CV version with evolution trim, and from 42,255 euros for the 220 CV variant with long-range battery and techno trim.
