The new Range Rover Evoque with ECO label features Mild-Hybrid versions, MHEV, in all its engines, whether diesel or petrol.

Nuevo Evoque Eco

The new Range Rover Evoque with ECO label has arrived in Spain and has had its official launch in Madrid. The new Evoque with ECO label features Mild-Hybrid versions, MHEV, across the entire range. In addition, the British brand will also offer a plug-in hybrid version, PHEV, by mid-2020.

As Land Rover points out, “with its new MHEV engine, efficiency is increased and therefore torque is boosted. This provides smoother starting, facilitates the operation of the Start/Stop system and reduces fuel consumption and emissions.” The new Range Rover Evoque MHEV with ECO labels will be able to access Madrid in all five possible scenarios of the Anti-Pollution Protocol and even drive through Madrid Central.

The new Range Rover Evoque with ECO label features a 2.0 turbocharged engine with MHEV micro-hybrid technology (Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle). This means it is a hybrid car in which the electric motor provides an extra boost of power to the conventional engine through an electrical system with a voltage below 60 V.

The Evoque has become the first car from the British manufacturer to incorporate this technology. It is paired with a ZF 9-speed automatic torque converter gearbox and a 48 V battery. The ECO range of the new Range Rover Evoque consists of diesel and petrol versions: on one hand, automatic 4×4 diesels with power outputs ranging from 150 CV to 240 CV, while on the other hand, automatic 4×4 petrol versions with power outputs of 200 CV, 249 CV and 300 CV.

The Range Rover Evoque 2019 will only be available with a five-door body, with the coupé and convertible versions disappearing. Its price starts at 40,000 euros but could reach nearly 77,000 euros for the most equipped and powerful versions.

The Range Rover Evoque PHEV

The future Range Rover Evoque PHEV could reach the market in March 2020. This new ECO model from the brand would join the current zero-emissions range. It will be powered by a 200 CV three-cylinder petrol engine combined with a 109 CV electric motor and an 11.3 kWh battery. It is worth noting that it could have a range exceeding 55 kilometres.

Presentación nuevo Evoque

Luis Antonio Ruiz, president and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Spain, has stated that “the market is constantly changing and we have no sales target; our forecast is to sell fewer than our record of 6,200 and more than last year, when the Evoque entered its final phase of the cycle.” After seven years on the market, the Evoque has carved out its place, having sold more than 800,000 units worldwide. Now, in its second generation, it has grown and offers 16 litres more boot capacity, Ruiz concluded.
