Infiniti presents a version of the QX50, but only for the Chinese market

Manufacturers that enter China need to be clear on one thing: the Chinese market is substantially different from all others. What buyers in this country expect is to be pampered and offered something different. That is why, every time a new model arrives in the Asian country, a different version is built for Chinese customers.
This is what has happened with the Infiniti QX50, which has received a facelift for its debut in the world’s largest car market. It is set to be presented at the Guangzhou Motor Show next month, and its main feature is a longer wheelbase, along with a few cosmetic changes that will help give it a different look without losing its essence.
This compact Premium benefits from that small change which, although not excessive, seems to favour more interior space, especially when it comes to legroom in the rear seats. But, as I have already said, it is not the only noteworthy change to the model, which gains presence.
Aesthetically, the grille is different and achieves a new look. The front has also been redesigned thanks to changes to the bumper and the look of the headlights, which have a sharper shape and the addition of daytime running lights with LED technology.
It also benefits from a series of extras, such as automatic opening and closing of the tailgate and a panoramic glass roof, which lets more natural light into the interior. Where nothing changes is the engine range, as it is exactly the same as in the standard model.
The engines it features are a 2.5-litre engine with a power output of 232 CV and two drive configurations, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and a 3.7-litre engine capable of delivering 346 CV, which will only be available with all-wheel drive. Deliveries of this version, exclusive to the Chinese market, will begin in 2015. Wouldn’t it be great if it also reached the rest of the international markets?
