The Detroit Motor Show is unveiling a wealth of new releases ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2016 for the automotive industry.

Just minutes ago, Infiniti presented its latest model, the Q60 Coupe, with a truly well-judged design and driving dynamics that seem to rank with the best.

The premium coupe segment is becoming increasingly fashionable. It seems every brand wants to offer at least one model in this class, since in addition to the German premium brands we all know, Lexus launched the RC last year, Cadillac has offered the ATS Coupe for several months now, and now Infiniti returns with its renewed proposal, the Q60 Coupe.

As its name suggests, it is the three-door version of the Q60, one of its most popular saloons. In our country, and practically across the whole European territory, Infiniti is still a minority brand. In fact, only one Q60 Coupe is currently sold. It is, however, an outdated offering, based on a model with many years behind it, technologically obsolete, and with token sales.

With this new Q60 Coupe, the model is completely renewed, now offering a much more attractive, bold and dynamic design. It shares certain similarities with, for example, the Lexus RC, also of Japanese origin, with a very similar approach. The large front grille stands out, as well as a very well-executed side profile.

Mechanically, the new Q60 Coupe seems keen to distance itself from its predecessor, offering a very high technology content. Notable is the inclusion of turbocharged four-cylinder engines (2.0 Turbo with 208 CV, of Mercedes-Benz origin) and six-cylinder engines (3.0 V6 Turbo with 300 and 400 CV, of Japanese origin, belonging to the VR family). A new intelligent suspension called “Dynamic Digital Suspension” will also be included as an option on some configurations, which seems set to offer dynamism levels on a par with the best in its segment.
