Jaguar XKR-S GT: pictures and specs

The Jaguar XK family is delighted with the arrival of a turbocharged sibling. The XKR-S GT has arrived, shown in official photos by the British brand. It presents a more extreme version of the XKR-S, specially prepared for trackdays. It is also a commemorative model marking 25 years of the “R” models.

The additions to the XKR-S GT are numerous. With the help of aerodynamic add-ons, extensive use of carbon fibre, a huge rear spoiler and a chassis tuned for the track, the new model hopes to leave behind the 7:50 lap of the Nürburgring.

According to Jaguar, the rear spoiler and some other aerodynamic add-ons on the front of the vehicle give it a downforce value of 145 kilos, to which the firmer suspension and spring settings are added. It reaches a top speed of almost 300 km/h, even though nothing has changed in the engine compared with the XKR-S V8. But the small weight savings, such as the ceramic brakes, point to a small gain in performance for this model.

Unfortunately we will not see the XKR-S GT in Europe, as it will be produced in a limited run of just 30 units for North America, with the possibility that some wealthy Briton may be willing to pay a few thousand pounds more for a special order of the model with right-hand drive. The sale price will be 150,000 euros at the current exchange rate.
