Two years ago, Lamborghini unveiled to the world what was possibly, for them, the best supercar ever built at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. A prototype called Sesto Elemento, in honour of the carbon fibre from which its entire bodywork was made, allowing a very light weight.

Today, the Italian brand, owned by the VAG Group, has officially released the details of the production model, which will reach the assembly line at the end of this year and will be delivered to its future owners at a price above 2.6 million euros. It will be limited to just 20 units.

Autovisie had the opportunity to read an article in the official magazine of Audi, which says the production version will remain very similar to the concept car we all know. The main changes will be greater rigidity and an improvement in the overall safety of the structure.

The interior, full of high technology, will keep the same seat shapes, and their position can be personalised to suit the owner. As a reminder, the seats of the concept car are part of the monocoque structure made of carbon fibre, accompanied by dampers for greater comfort, something customers will surely appreciate.

The structure of the production version will have two completely separate parts, front and rear, with joints that can be released quickly and easily, allowing simple repairs in the event of an accident.

Mechanically, like the Gallardo, its twin brother, it will use the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 capable of delivering power to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox, 560 CV of power, a figure that may seem “modest” given the final price of the supercar.

The solution to all the problems, as always, comes down to weight. Thanks to the intensive use of carbon fibre, the overall weight has been reduced to an incredible and spectacular 999 kg, enough for the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in the same time as a Bugatti Veyron, in 2.5 seconds. Its top speed is 322 km/h.
