Lanzante and McLaren will bring the impressive P1 GT Long Tail back to life

Lanzante and McLaren have surprised everyone with the teaser of the P1 GT Long Tail, the most radical and aerodynamic variant of the British hypercar.

They say legends never die, a saying that also applies to the world of motoring, and which brands sometimes show us is indeed true: legends prevail. McLaren and Lanzante have wanted to underline this with a spectacular teaser that has surprised everyone, since the emblematic P1 will return in a more radical and impressive version, one that takes on the charismatic LT name. In this way, the hypercar from McLaren will rise from its ashes to greet us with one final variant, thus becoming the most sporting production model ever built by the British firm.

In this way, the Long Tail name is applied to a vehicle from the British firm for the fourth time, something we have recently seen on the new 600LT. Thanks to the involvement of Lanzante, a company that specialises in making P1 GTRs road-legal, the British hypercar will return to life as the GT Long Tail variant.

It is true that the British firm currently has the Senna, the supercar that took over the legacy of the P1 and took it to the next level. However, the hypercar that was born to demonstrate the might of the British firm is making a comeback after strong demand from its potential customers. Without wasting time, Lanzante has decided to bring the P1 back to life with the GT LT name, honouring the emblematic F1 variants.

In this way, we will find the most radical version of the McLaren P1, where weight reduction and aerodynamic improvement will be the main protagonists. The LT designation has always implied a high level of sportiness for the British firm, and on this occasion it was not going to be an exception. After seeing the effectiveness of the 675LT and sensing that of the 600LT, we can be sure that this new P1 will be one of the most revolutionary models of all time.

Under its skin we will find the same 3.8-litre V8 engine assisted by an electric motor, but on this occasion it will receive some modifications to deliver power in keeping with the overall package. Let us recall that the standard P1 was capable of producing a total of 916 CV of power and 900 Nm of torque, figures that rose to 1,000 CV and 1,000 Nm of torque in its GTR variant, from which this new GT LT could be derived.

It will be on 13 July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that the McLaren P1 GT LT makes its debut, presenting itself to the world with its impressive tuning. Without a doubt, the return of the P1 excites all motoring enthusiasts and its most direct customers, who will be eager to obtain one of the few units that will be manufactured of this spectacular model.
