Loder1899, the first tuner to take on the 2012 Focus

That the new 2012 Ford Focus will be a bestseller again, like its predecessor, is beyond doubt, and because of this many tuners have already presented, or at least announced that they are already working on it, to offer something “different” from what the brand with the blue oval offers.

What we perhaps did not expect is how quickly the guys at Loder1899 have presented a more than decent proposal, thus becoming perhaps the first tuner whose catalogue already has enough arguments to convince you that your newly bought Focus needs a change.

On this occasion the compact hatchback has been dressed in numerous carbon fibre parts, a material very much in fashion in any worthwhile tuning project, such as a new front spoiler, matching side skirts and a rear end very much in the style of the previous-generation Ford Focus RS.

Perhaps all of this is the most basic part of the tuning, since as options you can fit eye-catching elements such as new front headlights with a carbon background, LED daytime running lights or chrome front fog lights. On the other hand, no worthwhile tuning project can reach the market without a set of wheels to match; this time a complete catalogue will delight all buyers, with wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches.

Mechanically, Loder1899 did not want to disappoint its customers and has chosen not the most extreme version, which will come later, but precisely to modify the engine that will be most successful in the future: the 2.0 TDCi with 163 hp and 340 Nm of peak torque which, thanks to adjustments to the ECU and above all to the turbo boost pressure, has been raised to a more than desirable 195 hp and 395 Nm of peak torque.

Thanks to this power increase, your small Ford Focus can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the original version, with a top speed of 220 km/h.
