Lotus Exige Cup 430 Type 25, new limited edition for the British "toy"

Lotus continues its policy of offering short special series and limited editions based on its best-known models, the Exige and Elise. This time it is the turn of the former, which unveils a new limited edition of the Exige, the Exige Cup 430 25, which develops the concept already introduced a few months ago when the British sports marque launched the Exige Cup 430, the model that serves as the basis for this new variant.

The Exige Cup 430 25 draws directly on the world of competition. It is offered in two possible exterior colour finishes, Racing Green and Old English White, which are the ones shown in the attached photographs. The first combines its green exterior finish with black and yellow details, while the second, in white, features contrasting elements in black and green. In both cases, note the large rear spoiler, mounted in a raised position to generate greater aerodynamic downforce on the car, which according to the manufacturer supports up to 220 kg. Other notable details are visible at first glance, such as the large brake calipers finished in red, visible through the spokes of its forged aluminium wheels, which have an attractive, sporty design.

In addition to the novelties already mentioned, the finish with which Lotus has equipped this special series of 25 units includes some new aerodynamic elements, such as the carbon fibre splitter and the aforementioned large rear spoiler.

Inside, buyers of this special Exige series can choose from different finishes. In all of them there are quality materials in trim and upholstery (leather, Alcantara, etc.). The interior design is the usual one for the Exige, with the model’s traditional, distinctly sporty atmosphere. The Exige is a road car whose driving experience conveys sensations very close to those one might experience aboard a racing car.

And to enjoy those sensations, Lotus has fitted the Exige Cup 430 Type 25 with its well-known 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 436 CV, which delivers a maximum torque of 440 Nm. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. With this combination, the Exige Cup 430 Type 25 clocks a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 290 km/h.
