Lotus sets the price and opens reservations for its Eletre SUV in the United States

The British manufacturer, now under the control of the Chinese automotive giant Geely, has just announced the opening of its order books in the United States for the brand’s first electric SUV. The company has also revealed the prices of the different versions of the Eletre in this market.

The entry-level version of this electric SUV is already available in the United States from 107,000 dollars. This version features two electric motors, one for each axle, capable of delivering up to 445 kW. Meanwhile, the 0-100 km/h acceleration stands at just 4.5 seconds.

Lotus has also announced the price of the Eletre R, which can be purchased in the United States from 145,000 dollars. This top-of-the-range version also has a dual electric motor setup but increases combined output in this case to 665 kW, thereby reducing the time needed to reach 100 km/h from a standstill to just 2.5 seconds.

Other details to consider

Both versions of the Eletre feature an 800V architecture and the same 111.9 kWh battery pack. When recharging, the Lotus Eletre can increase its state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. For the time being, the British manufacturer has not disclosed the WLTP range of either version it will sell in the United States. However, it is estimated that it could reach up to 570 km for the entry-level version of the range, and 450 km for the Eletre R.

Buyers of the Eletre R will have the option of equipping the vehicle with an optional set of carbon-ceramic brakes with ten-piston brake calipers instead of six. The Lotus Eletre will be sold in the North American market in seven different colours: Kaimu Grey, Stellar Black, Akoya White, the striking Solar Yellow, Floral Grey and Galloway Green. All units of the Eletre integrate a pair of Nvidia Orin chips responsible for managing, among other elements, the 15.1-inch central screen. The operating system, on the other hand, is HyperOS.

Lotus hopes to begin deliveries of its electric SUV in the North American market in the last quarter of this year. The Eletre is already on sale in China and some European markets, such as Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
