Lotus upgrades its cars' options with the new Carbon Pack

What characterises the Lotus models is that they are extremely light. Their design allows them to keep a lower weight than other cars in their segment, without compromising the driving experience. Now, the brand has launched a new pack that reduces the weight of the Evora 400 even further, bringing it down to 1,353 kilos. The great goal of Lotus since its creation 68 years ago has always been to build light and powerful cars that captivate their drivers.
The Lotus Evora 400 is considered the lightest in its segment, and with this new pack it will be lighter still. The Carbon Pack uses several carbon-fibre elements that come as standard equipment on the Evora Sport 410. Among these elements are a front splitter, roof panel, rear spoiler, rear trim finish, central access panel and external mirror covers.

The hand-made elements allow a 5-kilo reduction in total weight, as well as offering a more elegant and aesthetically more attractive finish. To reduce the car’s weight even further, the pack includes a titanium sports exhaust and a lighter lithium-ion battery that saves another 10 kilos. Another option, though only in Europe, is a coaster and a tray, which together weigh just 120 grams. In the United States, this option comes as standard.
Other measures to reduce the weight of the Evora 400 include removing the air conditioning system, a measure that is not very appealing at first glance, but which eliminates a considerable amount of weight. You can also opt for the 2 + 0 seating configuration, and with these two measures the weight is reduced even further.
The engine delivers a power output of 400 CV, which maximises performance thanks to the combination of weight reduction and considerable power. The Carbon Pack costs around 9,000 euros in Europe, while the lighter-weight battery costs 1,890 euros. Removing the seats and air conditioning costs nothing, which makes that choice easier. What do you think of these measures for a supercar like the Lotus Evora 400?
