Lucid Air Sapphire: the supersports saloon with 1,234 CV and 687 km of range

Lucid Motors has today announced the launch of a new model designed to meet every need: the Lucid Air Sapphire, the first luxury supersports saloon to be fully electric in the world. Lucid has done with Sapphire what Mercedes did with AMG or BMW with M: give a name to its performance range with the best performance.

The heart of the Lucid Air Sapphire beats to the rhythm of three electric motors, an engineering feat developed in-house by Lucid Motors. This new model is the first luxury supersports saloon that is 100% electric and which, moreover, produces 1,234 CV and 1,930 Nm of torque. This force of nature allows the Sapphire to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in a mere 1.89 seconds, a figure that makes the laws of physics seem to challenge themselves. It can also cover 400 m in just 8.95 seconds at a top speed of 330 km/h.

Four driving modes and 687 km of range

The range of the Lucid Air Sapphire defies conventional expectations, reaching an astonishing estimate of 687 km according to the EPA on a single charge. This sets a new standard for electric vehicle performance and dispels any doubt about the capability of electric cars for long-distance journeys. Its state-of-the-art battery, developed in-house, powers the three electric motors with impressive efficiency.

Innovation extends to handling, where the Lucid Air Sapphire offers four driving modes: Smooth, Swift, Sapphire and Track. Each mode adjusts various aspects of the car to suit different conditions and driving styles. From comfortable, efficient driving to a sporty, thrilling experience on the road, the Sapphire adapts to the driver’s preferences.

Saloon design, supercar power

In terms of design, the Lucid Air Sapphire is a testament to the fusion of Californian inspiration and futuristic sophistication. The bodywork has been meticulously optimised for aerodynamic downforce and efficiency at high speeds. Its striking paint colour, Sapphire Blue, combines with the Stealth Look details by Lucid, creating an aura of exclusivity and elegance. The Aero Sapphire wheels, fitted with specially designed Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, provide not only better performance but also improved efficiency thanks to their aerodynamic carbon-fibre disc wheel covers.

The interior of the Lucid Air Sapphire perfectly complements its exterior, which has been given the name “Sapphire Mojave“. The Sapphire’s exclusive sports seats provide exceptional support while maintaining comfort, with heating, cooling and even massage functions.

The Lucid Air Sapphire starts at $249,000, equivalent to about €226,000, though only in its fully equipped version. We hope its availability in other markets will be announced in the near future.
