Bridgestone Turanza 6, an all-round tyre with outstanding wet performance
The Monteblanco circuit in Huelva has witnessed the most demanding test of the new Bridgestone Turanza 6, a tyre for passenger cars and SUVs that stands out on wet surfaces.

Bridgestone has taken a further step and replaced the Turanza T005 with a much more advanced tyre model. We are, of course, talking about the Bridgestone Turanza 6, which we had the chance to test on the bends of the Monteblanco circuit in Huelva. Although it is designed for passenger cars and SUVs, it is also suitable for practical sports cars like those you can see in the photos from the day.
Although the new Bridgestone Turanza 6 is, as we have said, a tyre for passenger cars and SUVs, the Japanese brand has taken into account the arrival on the market of electric models, as shown by its range of sizes, which covers 136 options between 16 and 22 inches, 34 of which are completely new.
If you already feel like buying the new Turanza 6, which is no surprise, and you have a car with 16-inch wheels, you will have to wait until January 2024 to enjoy them. Don’t worry about the price, because the new Bridgestone Turanza 6 will keep the same price range as its predecessor, the Turanza 5. The benefits don’t stop there: besides a moderate price, the new Turanza 6 offers excellent wet-weather qualities.

How have they achieved better performance on water?
Quite simply, by applying the new Enliten technology, which works on the compound definition, the cavity, the tread pattern and even the fabric and tread band, not forgetting the rim protector in all sizes. The innovations don’t end there: Bridgestone uses the polymer called Techsyn, which increases the tyre’s service life by 22% compared with the Turanza 5. It also reduces rolling resistance by 4%. Not bad at all for an all-round tyre!

It is important to highlight that the brand delivers on its promises, since the new Turanza 6 offers excellent behaviour on wet surfaces, even with a large amount of water. I’m not saying this lightly; I was able to test it myself. On dry asphalt the rubber behaves very well, and that is on a circuit. Its traction is more than adequate, as it does not generate lateral drift when cornering. Its grip under hard braking, both dry and wet, is in a class of its own!
To really put the new Bridgestone Turanza 6 through its paces, we carried out four exercises to subject the tyre to demanding situations such as the swerve, the slalom and braking in a bend, all on wet surfaces. We also tested it on roads with different asphalts, performed the moose test and emergency braking. All of this at the wheel of models such as the Audi Q2, the Audi A4 or the Volkswagen Taigo , among others.

In short, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 is a tyre I would buy for its qualities, its durability, its efficiency and its price. What are you waiting for to reserve yours?
