Madrid City Council is more committed than ever to the environment. This is shown by the addition of 74 Renault ZOE for public services.

Pollution in large cities is causing discomfort that affects every single one of their inhabitants, with the car being one of the main culprits of this disaster. Over the years, efforts to solve this problem have focused on promoting the use of public transport, which had some impact on citizens but, faced with such a situation, car manufacturers also decided to get involved. From this idea came electric vehicles and, as we can see, they are becoming increasingly established in our market.

Little by little, more and more customers are enjoying an electric vehicle in their garage, but public services are also joining this new technology. This can be seen in Madrid City Council, where 74 Renault ZOE have been incorporated, a compact car that relies on electricity to keep it running. This fleet of French vehicles will take on certain tasks that, until now, were carried out by combustion models.

This initiative has been carried out with the aim of supporting the Air Quality Plan, which seeks to improve the high levels of pollution found in some cities such as Madrid. The French brand, which also shows a strong commitment to this cause, has decided to do its bit with the 74 Renault ZOE, which will serve different areas of public administration.

Of all the units of this electric compact, 44 will be assigned to meet the needs of the Environment Department, so several Renault Zoe will be tasked with monitoring parks and green areas and carrying out cleaning inspections, among other duties. Another 22 units will be used for the work of the Economy and Finance Department, but that is not all, since the little Zoe will also be responsible for patrolling the streets of Madrid.

That’s right, the diamond brand has made the remaining 8 units available to Madrid City Council which will serve the Municipal Police force. Let’s remember that the ZOE has a range of 300 km and its battery is capable of delivering 41 kWh, figures more than enough to cover urban areas and carry out its mission successfully. However, this is not the only surprise Renault had in store for the city of Madrid.

The French brand has added 4 more units of the Kangoo ZE to cover other services where more space is required. Thanks to Renault, Madrid will have a fleet of vehicles better suited to combating the pollution that threatens our country and, more specifically, those cities with the largest populations, as is the case with the Spanish capital.
