McLaren gives us a small teaser of the future successor to the P1, the P15
McLaren plays with our curiosity and shows us an image of the exhaust system of the P15, the future successor to the hypercar par excellence, the P1.

It is not the first time the British firm has played with us and our curiosity. They did the same with the 720S, which they gradually revealed until reaching the final product. From time to time they leave us images of different parts of what will be their new vehicle, in this case the P15. It is true that not long ago we saw its future sibling, the BP23, driving on the road, but we had no details of the P15 until today. The people from Woking have decided to make our mouths water with their future hypercar.
Let us remember that the P15 -codename- has been given a tough and arduous mission: to surpass the all-powerful P1. We were able to see the BP23 driving on the basis of the 720S and how it will directly inherit the legacy of the F1, since it has three seats with the driver’s in the central position. But the P15 has been a mystery until they showed us this curious photograph of its exhaust system.
In the image shown we can observe a new exhaust outlet never seen before on McLaren products. It has a hexagonal shape revealing the three exhaust pipe outlets, which will be responsible for reproducing the sweet melody of its twin-turbo engine that could deliver up to 800CV. It is a new design that differs considerably from what we have seen on both the 675LT and the 720S, as it sacrifices the two individual outlets and concentrates them into three. I cannot help but think of the exhaust design of the Lamborghini Aventador S.

We can infer that the exhaust outlet will be positioned high, as the British brand’s logo sits below it. McLaren assures that the design of its new P15 has been directed solely and exclusively at breaking every record on track. This English supercar partly sacrifices its everyday usefulness to offer an extreme experience on the circuit, something we expected given that it has been created as a reinterpretation of the P1.
There is still much data hidden behind this image, but it is an important step. The revelation of the photograph tells us that the P15 is closer than we think. In fact, McLaren has confirmed that all the details and name of the supercar will make their debut before the end of 2017. Although the car’s specifications are unknown to most, they are not unknown to its future owners. Yes, all the P15s have already been allocated.
