McLaren MP4-12C against its rivals (II)

It seems there are people who didn’t like at all the results obtained by Car Magazine (see entry). Today, another English magazine called EVO has taken a McLaren MP4-12C, a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Noble M600 to the Bedford circuit. Who won?

Focusing exclusively on the cold lap times, thus setting aside everything related to driving sensations, the Ferrari once again thrashed the McLaren, even when the latter fits the optional, super-grippy Corsa tyres. This is the ranking (mm:ss):

1. Ferrari 458 Italia – 01:19.3
2. McLaren MP4-12C (with Corsa tyres) – 01:19.6
3. McLaren MP4-12C – 01:20.6
4. Noble M600 – 01:20.8

These figures become even more relevant when we consider that, just like the lads at Car Magazine, they have been obtained by the English press (we all know their magnificent national pride).

More tests are yet to come, including those by Top Gear, Fifth Gear, Autocar and AutoExpress. I’m eager to see what happens in the Italian, French and German press (unfortunately, we Spaniards cannot boast in this department).
