McLaren reveals the interior of the P1
McLaren has released the first official images of the P1’s cabin interior. It stands out for its minimalist design, which has required an intensive reduction in the weight of the materials overall. The seats weigh just 10.5 kg.

Last week, through a teaser video, we got to see the instrument panel of the new McLaren P1, and we knew that what lay behind the tinted windows of the prototype would be revealed shortly. Today, the Woking-based firm has released the first official images of the interior of the production McLaren P1.
As has become the tradition in recent hypercars arriving on the market, the interior of the McLaren P1 has been designed so that its occupants feel like they are in a true fighter jet. Carbon fibre abounds across the centre console, the dashboard, the seats and the doors. The buttons and screens, which provide all the information and allow the vehicle’s parameters to be adjusted, have been positioned in the most ergonomic way possible.

The carbon-fibre seats feature the minimum amount of padding, offering their occupants not only a much more sporting position but also greater grip when G-forces engulf the English hypercar in fast corners. Each seat weighs only 10.5 kg, and its height will be customised at the factory to suit the driver and the passenger.
The interior has been designed with the aim of reducing the total weight of the assembly as much as possible. To that end, in addition to using ultra-light seats, the engineers at McLaren have taken care to use the smallest possible amount of soundproofing material as well as very thin floor mats.
The final production version will be presented on 5 March at the Geneva Motor Show.
