Leon SEAT Compact Range / versions
SEAT León SC
The SEAT León SC is the first three-door variant of the Spanish compact. Its wheelbase has been reduced, as has the angle of the rear window. The engines available are exactly the same as the five-door León. It will reach the market in spring 2013.

As we announced yesterday, SEAT has unveiled the León SC, the first three-door variant in the Spanish compact’s range. This vehicle will be manufactured, like its five-door sibling, at the Martorell plant and will reach dealerships across Europe in spring 2013.
The SEAT León SC will be available in Reference and Style trim levels, as well as a variant with a sportier design and chassis called FR. A later arrival of the Cupra version is expected.
In the words of Dr. Matthias Rabe, SEAT S.A. Vice President of R&D, “The León SC, with a slightly shorter wheelbase, is the sportiest and most emotional member of the León range. It conveys all the sensations of a coupé while offering a surprising level of practicality”.
EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN

The bodywork, 4.23 metres long, has reduced the wheelbase by 35 millimetres compared with the model currently on sale. The SC’s most significant changes are at the rear side, where the C-pillar now forms a continuous arc down to the rear wheel arch, instead of a more rounded shape towards the boot. This design approach gives the León SC sporty, coupé-like lines. The glazed area has increased.
The rear window has been modified, with its angle increased by 19º and a pentagonal shape, a feature unique to the three-door variant compared with the five-door.

The vehicle’s interior, like its exterior, is enhanced by sporty lines that led the designers to create a modern, sporty and attractive vehicle, something they have been seeking for this model over two generations, and it is only now that both ideas have been successfully balanced.
According to the manufacturer, the seats of the new León SC achieve a better balance between sportiness and comfort, and standard equipment includes driver’s seat height adjustment, which is an absolute essential.
One of the new options is the ability to fit the SEAT Drive Profile, a system that allows the driver to adjust the engine response, steering, gearbox, or even alter the exhaust sound. The latter is only available on FR versions.
ENGINES

At launch, the engine range available on the SEAT León SC will consist of five petrol engines and four diesel engines. All of them use turbocharging, direct fuel injection and the Start&Stop automatic engine stop-start system. This last system is not fitted to the entry-level diesel (1.6 TDI 90 CV).
The engines are as follows:
PETROL
– 1.2 TSI 86 CV
– 1.2 TSI 105 CV
– 1.4 TSI 122 CV
– 1.4 TSI 140 CV
– 1.8 TSI 180 CV
DIESEL
– 1.6 TDI 90 CV
– 1.6 TDI 105 CV
– 2.0 TDI 150 CV
– 2.0 TDI 184 CV
Depending on the engine chosen, there will be up to four gearbox options, two of them automatic. Manual gearboxes can have five or six speeds, while dual-clutch units range from six to seven gears.
Prices are still unknown.
