Mercedes Clase G Edition 550, the special edition with 200 units

The Mercedes Clase G is one of those off-roaders that adventure seekers truly value. A vehicle equipped to handle any terrain, however demanding. The company recently revealed that it is struggling to meet demand for the new Clase G, so its success is clear. At the same time, however, it has unveiled the Edition 550 version, which you can see in the images.

This special edition consists of 200 units, where personalisation is one of the key features, defining the style and elegance of the model alongside its presence and power. Its exterior stands out for something special. The bodywork is finished in Jupiter Red, Arabian Grey or Moonlight White. The latter is the newest Manufaktur colour and is being used for the first time.

These three colours are complemented by black on the bumpers, wheel arches, grille and wheels. It also features a V8 badge in the same colour and a graphic of the vehicle’s silhouette with its serial number, from 1 to 200.

Inside, the designers wanted to offer users a comfortable, refined environment with luxury materials. The upholstery is two-tone Nappa leather, with diamond-pattern stitching. It covers the active multicontour seats and carbon-fibre trim. The text “X of 200 Edition 550” appears to highlight its exclusivity.

Although the engine that will power this special variant has not been specified, it is expected to use a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 422 CV and a maximum torque of 609 Nm. This powertrain would be complemented by a nine-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case. With this configuration, the model on which this version is based accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. It has a towing capacity of up to 3,175 kg, which is also ideal for this special, limited variant.
