Although we were already able to see it at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet will arrive at the New York Auto Show to be presented in the United States

Spring has arrived, so it seems to be the best time to enjoy a convertible. If a car with a retractable hardtop is a Mercedes, all the better, and if it is part of the E-Class range of the German manufacturer, I won’t even mention it. The Mercedes Cabriolet E-Class debuted internationally at the Geneva Motor Show, but now it will arrive in the United States at the New York Auto Show, so that buyers in that country can take note of all the new features of the version that will go on sale at the end of this year.

This model is below the S-Class, the brand’s flagship, but it is more complete than the C-Class, and it also offers more technology than that model. Among the new features of this new version of the convertible, the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system stands out, which is available on this version for the first time.

There are also elements designed to improve comfort for both the driver and the other passengers when the roof is down. These include the AIRCAP wind deflector and the AIRSCARF neck warmer, which keeps the cold from being a problem for the occupants. The roof, one of the most important parts of the model, has also undergone some modifications to make it more practical and attractive for potential buyers.

These changes mean that, with the roof up, external noise is considerably reduced and the wind is kept out of the cabin when the car is travelling at road speeds. As for colours, buyers can choose between dark brown, dark blue, red or black, to perfectly match the different body colours available for the model.

American buyers will be able to choose between the E400 Cabriolet and the E400 4MATIC Cabriolet, to enjoy all-wheel drive. However, the first units will not be ready for delivery until the third quarter. What do you think of the new convertible from Mercedes?
