MG Motor begins accepting reservations for the Cyberster in Europe

With other rivals such as the Polestar 6 or the Tesla Roadster still a fair while from reaching the market, the new MG Motor Cyberster has the field entirely to itself and can become a sales hit without any competition whatsoever

The spectacular electric roadster from MG Motor will reach European roads this very summer. The MG Motor division in the United Kingdom has been the first to break cover, publishing the configurator for the new Cyberster on its website so that it can begin accepting the first reservations. The British manufacturer, under the control of the Chinese giant SAIC, currently offers two versions with one or two electric motors, with the entry-level price of the range in this market being £54,995.

MG Motor calls this version Cyberster Trophy. Among its technical highlights, it is worth noting that it features a single electric motor delivering 250 kW of power and 475 Nm of torque, which allows it to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just five seconds. Its top speed, meanwhile, is electronically limited to 200 km/h.

In addition, the Cyberster is available in a higher-spec GT version, priced in the United Kingdom from £59,995. That is £5,000 more than the entry-level Trophy version. This GT version features dual electric motors that provide all-wheel drive, with a combined power output of 375 kW and 725 Nm of torque. Its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in this case comes in at 3.2 seconds, while its top speed is practically the same.

Other details worth knowing about the new Cyberster

Both versions of the Cyberster feature a battery pack with a capacity of 77 kWh. As expected, since the battery pack is the same, the entry-level version offers a slightly longer range. Thus, MG Motor promises a WLTP range of 507 km for the Cyberster Trophy, while the Cyberster GT is capable of covering up to 443 km on a single charge according to the manufacturer , always under the WLTP homologation cycle.

As for charging the battery, both versions support a maximum charging power of 150 kW in direct current, which according to the manufacturer allows 80 percent charge to be reached from 10 percent in just under 40 minutes.
