Milan Design Week: a guitar, a sailboat and a foosball table based on the Ford GT

The impact of the fashion and design world on the automotive world is undeniable. Every day we see new models that draw from the essence of the most innovative design, and spectacular, attractive vehicles are created. But it is a two-way street, and the design applied to cars ends up being used on other objects.
This is what usually happens with many designs presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, an event that is in principle about furniture design, but where the automotive world always finds its way in somehow. This simply confirms the close relationship between both sectors, which feed off each other, contributing the best of each one to the benefit of the other.
In this case, the theme has been the Ford GT, the American brand’s vehicle that has served as inspiration for the creation of three objects that are quite different from one another. The first of them is also a vehicle, although very different from this one. It is a sailboat that could soon sail the seas for the enjoyment of its occupants.

The second object is a guitar, while the third is an original foosball table. Alongside these, the Ford global design team has also presented other smaller objects, such as a wireless speaker, a floating lamp and two interpretations of a lounge.
The appeal of all this is that the design language of the Ford GT has been followed, so the entire collection keeps a similar line that makes it very recognizable. But the presence of the automotive brand doesn’t stop there. Together with the organization, Ford has developed an installation fully inspired by this model.
Ford also collaborates with the exhibition by offering a talk on the design of spaces for people and the solutions it has worked on over the years to give its vehicles a pleasant and very useful space. Interior design and cars, joined together in a very original exhibition. Interesting, right?
