Jack Miller se hizo con la pole en MotoGP en Argentina

The Australian Jack Miller took pole position at the 2018 Argentina GP, at the Termas de Río Hondo Circuit. In what is his fourth season in the premier class, Miller managed for the first time to be the fastest in a qualifying session, in a session marked by difficult weather conditions, with intermittent rain.

Miller did not secure pole position until his last attempt, when the chequered flag had already been waved, improving the lap time of Dani Pedrosa by 177 thousandths when the Spaniard was already savouring first place. The rider who this year races for the Ducati Pramac Racing team took a risk with slick tyres when the track was still not completely dry, and the gamble paid off quite well, as it allowed him to improve on the lap time of the Spaniard from Repsol.

In third place, closing out the front row, was the Frenchman Johan Zarco. On the second row we have a trio of Spaniards: Tito Rabat, Alex Rins and Marc Márquez, in that order. Dovizioso will start in eighth place, just ahead of Maverick Viñales, and Valentino Rossi will start from eleventh place. The one who had the worst of all was Jorge Lorenzo, who failed to make it through to Q2 and will have to start from fourteenth position on the grid.

El español Vierge logró la pole en Moto2 en Argentina

In the Moto2 category, the pole sitter is a Spanish rider: Xavi Vierge. At 21 years old and in his fourth season in the category, the Barcelona rider, who wears number 97 on his fairing, has achieved his first pole, beating the Italian Baldasarri by almost 300 thousandths on the very first lap. Kent completed the front row, with Navarro in fifth place and Álex Márquez in eighth. From fifteenth place will start the winner of the Qatar race, the Italian Bagnaia.

Also making his debut as pole sitter is Tony Arbelino, a young Italian of just 17 years old who surprised everyone by setting the best time in Moto3, on the wet asphalt of the Termas de Río Hondo circuit. The Italian Bezzecchi and the Argentinian Rodrigo complete the front row, Bastianini is on the second row with his compatriots Norrodin and Di Giannantonio, while the Spaniards Canet and Martín will start from the third row.

We remind you that the races at this 2018 Argentina GP begin from 16:55 hours onwards, with the Moto3 riders on track. At 18:15 hours it is the turn of the Moto2 riders, and the premier class will be on track from 19:55 hours.
