New Alpine A110, the modern version of a road legend
One of the most anticipated models at the Geneva Motor Show was the Alpine A110, the revival of a classic that will undoubtedly feature in the dreams of many people.

A few days before its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show, we had already been able to see it completely uncovered, revealing an incredible coupé with beautiful lines, something we were able to confirm first-hand at the Geneva Motor Show. But now, moreover, we can forget all the rumours about its engine and give you more specific details.
The new Alpine A110 will be powered by a new 1,800 cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine, developed under the Renault-Nissan alliance, but later fine-tuned by Alpine’s engineers and Renault Sport. This engine will deliver a power output of 252 CV with a torque of 320 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Its combined consumption, which is not bad at all, has been set at 6.2 litres per 100 km.

Thanks to the light weight of the Alpine A110, at only 1,080 kilograms, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The exhaust system, created exclusively for the A110, also deserves a mention, as do the three available driving modes (Normal, Sport and Track), which the driver can adjust to modify the response of the steering, engine, gearbox and the intervention of traction control.
On the outside, besides paying homage to the original A110 with its light cluster and the central ridge on the bonnet, it features very refined aerodynamics, noticeable for example in the absence of a rear spoiler. Inside, the design is minimalist but with high-quality materials, which also allow for everyday driving thanks to the comfortable driving position and the double-wishbone suspension both front and rear. That said, it will not be a car designed for long journeys, and its 100-litre front boot and 96-litre rear boot are not exactly noteworthy for their capacity.

Even so, despite the good finish and materials of its interior, and its comfort, the Alpine A110 will also handle like a fish in water on the track. To do so, it will feature other elements such as the bucket seats signed by Sabelt, with a total weight of just 13.1 kg, the brakes developed by Brembo with aluminium calipers and 320 mm discs on both axles, and the 18-inch wheels signed by Fuchs.
But the launch of the Alpine A110 will be marked from the outset by the limited edition of 1,955 units, the Première Edition, a number that refers to the year Alpine was founded. This special edition comes in the colours Alpine Blue, Noir Profond and Blanc Solaire, Fuchs 18-inch wheels in matt black finish, a Focal audio system, carbon fibre inserts and polished aluminium pedals, among other details.
Once production of the Première Edition is completed in 2018, further trim levels will be added. Alpine has been taking orders for this edition since the end of 2016, with a price set for France of 58,500 euros. For the rest of the markets, including Spain, details will be known in mid-2017.
