New delivery record for Tesla in the third quarter of 2025
In the third quarter of the year, Tesla managed to recover lost ground and was able to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market.
The third quarter of 2025 represented a turning point for Tesla, as in these three months it managed to surpass the less-than-ideal results of the first half of the year. During this period, the company was able to produce 447,450 electric vehicles and delivered 497,099. This thus set a new all-time delivery record, surpassing the 495,570 units delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024.
This achievement was made possible by the high level of inventory accumulated in previous quarters, with a surplus of 26,122 vehicles in the second quarter and 25,934 in the first. In this way, Tesla was able to meet growing demand in the third quarter, even though production volume in this period was clearly lower.

Despite a difficult start to the year, with production and deliveries below 2024 levels, third-quarter results show a notable recovery. Deliveries in this period clearly exceeded the 462,890 units delivered in the same quarter of the previous year, although production volume in that quarter a year ago was higher, with a total of 469,796 vehicles leaving the assembly lines of the company’s plants.
The two main pillars on which the company rests
As usual, the Model 3 and Model Y remain the most popular models from the North American manufacturer, and this is also reflected in the combined production and delivery data for these two models. During the third quarter of the year, Tesla built 435,826 units of these two vehicles and delivered a total of 481,166.
The results achieved for Tesla’s high-end models, which include the Model S, Model X and Cybertruck, were once again much more modest. The combined production volume of these three models amounted to 11,624 units, and deliveries came to 15,933 units. The truth is that demand for the Model S and Model X has declined in recent quarters, most likely as a consequence of the growing competition in the segment they belong to and, on the other hand, the Cybertruck, despite being the brand’s most technologically advanced model, has not yet taken off in sales.

In presenting these results, Tesla also wanted to highlight the good figures achieved in the company’s energy storage division, with a new record of 12.5 GWh in large-scale residential and commercial battery installations during the quarter.
On October 22, Tesla will publish its third-quarter financial results, offering a more detailed view of how these record figures in production, deliveries and energy storage translate into revenue and profits.
