New Peugeot 2008: all its prices, range and equipment

We have analysed the entire Peugeot 2008 range, so we reveal all its secrets and, of course, its prices.

It was this summer that we got to know the new generation of the Peugeot 2008, a completely renewed model in every respect that comes to take on other urban SUVs such as the stars of our latest comparison test: the Seat Arona or the Renault Captur.

The new design has adopted the brand’s new and attractive features, so it is a kind of Peugeot 208 in XL format. In addition, it has grown compared with the previous generation: it is now 16 centimetres longer, giving a more imposing presence.

Of course, its interior features the i-Cockpit system with its characteristic small, flat-bottomed steering wheel. The new Peugeot 2008 receives the latest update of this system, so it offers the 3D digital instrument cluster that its smaller sibling, the Peugeot 208, first introduced.

Peugeot e-2008Six engine options available

The smallest member of the French brand’s SUV family comes with a range of six engine options: three petrol, two diesel and… a 100% electric one!

The petrol engines belong to the PureTech family and share one thing in common: they are three-cylinder units with a 1.2-litre displacement. They come in outputs of 100, 130 and 155 hp and, except for the least powerful, can be paired with the EAT8 automatic gearbox.

The diesel engines, on the other hand, all derive from the same block: the 1.5 BlueHDI. As with the petrol options, this engine is offered in two power levels: one of 100 hp with a six-speed manual gearbox, and another of 130 hp with the EAT8 gearbox.

Peugeot E 208 E 2008 (3)The main novelty is the 100% electric version. It produces 100 kW (136 hp) and features a battery pack with 50 kWh of capacity. Thanks to this combination, the range of the Peugeot e-2008 is 310 kilometres.

The Peugeot e-2008 can be charged in 16 hours when plugged into a domestic socket, and in 5 to 8 hours depending on whether it is connected to an 11 kW three-phase wallbox or a 7.4 kW single-phase one. It also supports fast charging of up to 100 kW, so it can reach 80% charge in 30 minutes.

Four trim levels for the Peugeot 2008

Active

Peugeot 2008 ActiveThe first trim level you find in the configurator for the new Peugeot 2008 is the Active. It can only be paired with the BlueHDI 100 manual, the PureTech 100 manual and the electric motor. It is therefore here that we find the entry price for the model with the BlueHDI 100 engine: €19,350.

With this trim, the standard equipment includes air conditioning controlled from the touchscreen, a rear obstacle sensor, 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, cruise control with speed limiter, and automatic headlights. You also get cloth upholstery and a 7-inch touchscreen.

Among the most notable optional extras are the fog lights (+€150), single-zone automatic climate control (+€300), rear-view camera (+€200), 16-inch alloy wheels (+€520) and emergency braking system (+€1,100). If you choose the Peugeot e-2008 Active, you will have to pay €300 if you want the 11 kW on-board charger.

Allure

Peugeot 2008 AllureThe next trim level is the Allure, which is available with all engines in the range except the most powerful petrol, the PureTech 155. In this case, the most affordable configuration is paired with the PureTech 100 petrol engine with manual gearbox, whose starting price is €21,400.

Here, the standard equipment already includes styling elements such as tinted rear windows, 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. It also comes as standard with automatic climate control, a rear-view camera and a 7-inch touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

As for the optional extras available, you can now fit the Grip Control system (+€400), two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels (+€320), a 10-inch touchscreen (+€749.99), keyless entry and start (+€300) or adaptive cruise control (+€400). You can also add Nappa leather upholstery with light-coloured stitching for €2,200.

If you opt for the Peugeot e-2008 Allure, extras include a black roof for €300 or the 11 kW charger at the same price as in the entry-level trim.

GT-Line

Peugeot 2008 Gt LineThe third trim available in the Peugeot 2008 range is the GT-Line, which already features a sportier look. This trim is available with all engines except the most basic petrol and the most powerful (PureTech 100 and PureTech 155). The lowest price in this trim is therefore paired with the PureTech 130 petrol engine with manual gearbox, whose price starts at €25,000.

The standard equipment is very complete, adding gloss black roof bars, 17-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights, emergency braking system, two-tone roof or ambient interior lighting.

Of course, the list of optional extras is extensive: wireless smartphone charging (+€99.99), Focal high-fidelity sound system (+€800), parking assistant (+€500) or blind-spot monitoring (+€150).

If you opt for the Peugeot e-2008 GT-Line, you will still have to pay the €300 for the 11 kW charger, as in all trims.

GT

Peugeot 2008 GtThe GT trim level is the top of the Peugeot 2008 range, so it can only be paired with the electric version and the most powerful engine in the whole line-up: the PureTech 155 with the EAT8 automatic gearbox, whose price starts at €29,500. This is the main differentiating element of this trim, since the standard equipment is essentially the same as on the GT-Line.

If you choose the Peugeot e-2008 GT, it is hard to justify the €2,450 extra over the GT-Line, since the only difference in standard equipment is the inclusion of a wallbox. As you can imagine, the brand also charges €300 for the three-phase 11 kW charging cable.
