New Peugeot 208 electric
Peugeot unveiled the second generation of the new 208 at the Geneva Motor Show, its first fully electric production model.
Peugeot joins the electric mobility push with the new Peugeot e-208, using the 208’s CMP platform, which allows it to come off the same production line as its petrol and diesel siblings.
Siblings that, according to the brand itself, will remain the best sellers in both diesel and petrol versions. The new Peugeot 208, which will go on sale in summer, will be a direct rival to other electric cars such as the Renault Zoe.

Peugeot 208 electric: performance
The new Peugeot e-208 features a 50 kWh battery that sends 100 kW of power to the electric motor, providing up to 340 km of range on a single charge.
Charging is somewhat slow, as it will take more than 20 hours if charged from a standard domestic socket. However, if you have an adaptable charging point, you can have it fully charged in just 8 hours.

Although no performance figures have yet been released, the e-208 offers three driving modes: Eco mode for optimised range, Normal mode and a Sport mode that prioritises performance.
Consequently, like most latest-generation electric vehicles, the new Peugeot 208 comes with the MyPeugeot app, through which users can start and stop charging their cars or control the vehicle’s climate.

Design that hasn’t been overhauled
The Peugeot e-208 doesn’t change its design much compared with the rest of the new 208 line-up. Exterior details are limited, with only notable changes to the front grille, the multicolour Peugeot badge and the e-208 badge.
Inside, the GT Line version features more novel touches such as bespoke trim inserts and grey Alcántara upholstery.
